Myth of the West

Myth of the West is a collective exhibition representing inspired, challenging, inventive ideas and interpretations of western culture: past, present or future; real or make-believe. There are nine distinct installations and exhibits displayed throughout the airport by nine different artists and organizations that present new perspectives on subjects pertaining to their own mythologies and/or the American West. This year-long exhibition is intended to create an imaginative and interactive experience for airport visitors.

The goal of this exhibition is to present meaningful and relevant installations and displays that respond to one theme throughout the airport. Selected by a guest curator, the nine participants chosen based on their creativity, unique use of media, and relevance to the theme: The Myth of the West.

Amin uses charcoal and oil on the surface of the canvas and experiments with layering patterns that become augmented by one medium and loosened with another medium. Mysterious figures begin to emerge through an interlacing of patterns and a depth of layering.
